Empowered Women, Empowering Each Other: My Morning with Lisa Bean in Ilkley
Share
This October, I had the pleasure of attending a seminar in Ilkley led by the brilliant Lisa Bean, which brought together around 40 women from across Yorkshire for a morning of inspiration, connection, and powerful conversation.
Organised by a group of local businesswomen, the event was designed to help us explore how to become leaders in our own fields, not just in theory, but in mindset, confidence, and emotional awareness.
A Morning of Reflection and Realisation
Throughout the morning, we covered topics that hit home for so many of us, confidence, managing and identifying our emotions, understanding our abilities and pain points, and even recognising how our past experiences shape how we lead today.
It was one of those sessions that doesn’t just fill your notebook, but fills your soul. The energy in the room was incredible, 40 women all working hard to build something meaningful, learning from each other, and realising that we’re not alone in our doubts or our dreams.
My Biggest Takeaway
The biggest takeaway from the day?
That we’re already doing the thing we’re not confident enough to think we can do.
For so many of us, that’s running a business, building a brand, or leading a team.
It’s wild to think how often we question our ability, even when the proof of it is right there in front of us.
When I started my own business, I didn’t have all the answers. I still don’t. But I had a feeling, a pull, that this was something I had to do. It felt like destiny, even if it also came with a healthy dose of self-doubt.
And I know I’m not alone in that. So many women feel exactly the same way.
Who I Am and Why I’m Doing This
For anyone new here, I’m Rachel Beck, a female founder and owner of Vigor Vitamins, a supplement brand that’s on a mission to take on the industry.
I started Vigor because I wanted to demystify what we actually need, and remove all the unnecessary and harmful extras, from additives and artificial flavours to plastic packaging.
I believe women deserve products that are honest, effective, and made with integrity, and that’s exactly what I’m building, one capsule (and one scoop of collagen) at a time.
Why Events Like This Matter
The Lisa Bean seminar reminded me just how powerful it is when women come together, not in competition, but in connection.
It’s where inspiration meets reassurance.
Where you realise you’re not “becoming” the thing, you already are it.
And that’s something worth celebrating.
Here’s to more women stepping into their power, trusting their instincts, and doing the thing, even when it feels uncomfortable. 💗
