Vigor Vitamins Featured in Local Magazine Editorial on Midlife Health & Healthy Ageing

We were incredibly proud to recently be featured in a local lifestyle magazine with a full editorial discussing midlife health, healthy ageing, nutrition and wellbeing. The feature explored many of the conversations we feel passionately about at Vigor, particularly around supporting women through perimenopause, menopause and the natural changes that come with ageing.

Why We Wanted To Talk About Midlife Health

The article focused on how midlife can become a major turning point for health. Many women begin noticing changes to energy levels, sleep, recovery, mood and joint health during their 40s and 50s, often before fully understanding that hormones may be shifting in the background.

One of the biggest messages within the feature was that ageing should not automatically be viewed negatively. Increasingly, research and health experts are encouraging people to take a more proactive approach to ageing by supporting the body through balanced nutrition, movement, sleep and long-term lifestyle habits.

Menopause, Bone Health & Nutrition

The editorial explored the importance of nutrition during menopause and healthy ageing. In the UK, around one in two women over 50 will experience an osteoporosis-related fracture, highlighting why maintaining muscle mass, strength and bone health becomes increasingly important during midlife.

Alongside this, the article discussed the growing interest in supplements such as collagen and multivitamins. It referenced findings from the large-scale COSMOS trial, where adults taking a daily multivitamin showed markers of slightly slower biological ageing over a two-year period.

Collagen, Sleep & Healthy Ageing

The feature also covered the role of collagen within the body. Often associated purely with skin, collagen actually provides structure to joints, bones, connective tissue, blood vessels and organs. Research suggests women can lose up to 30% of collagen within the first five years after menopause, which may contribute to changes in skin elasticity, recovery and joint comfort.

Sleep and recovery were also highlighted, particularly around glycine, an amino acid naturally found in collagen. Emerging research suggests glycine may help support relaxation and sleep quality, something many women struggle with during perimenopause and menopause.

The editorial also touched on newer conversations happening within healthy ageing, including the growing interest in creatine for muscle strength, mobility and cognitive support in midlife.

A Proud Moment For Our Yorkshire Brand

As a Yorkshire business built around honest, evidence-led wellness, it meant a lot to see these conversations shared with a wider audience. At Vigor, we’ve always believed women deserve better education and more support when it comes to midlife health, without the overwhelm or unrealistic promises that can often come with the wellness industry.

Our goal has always been simple: to help women feel stronger, healthier and more supported through midlife and beyond.
